From ancient Roman, Greek or Celtic coins to a fresh from the mint 50p, coins are highly collectable.

Harper Field’s quarterly specialist coin auctions have a very strong following and have seen excellent results over recent years, so if you have a coin collection you’re thinking of selling please do get in touch and we will be happy to advise you.

If not a large collection, then it’s likely that most households have some unwanted coinage in a drawer, saved over the years, and it is amongst these there can often be some gems. It’s always worth having them examined by a specialist before making any decision on selling, to be sure that nothing has been missed. For example, a 1935 ‘rocking horse’ crown is usually worth a few pounds, but with raised lettering to the edge is suddenly worth around £500.
